In Moldova, being an orphan is a curse… being a deaf orphan is a death sentence. These kids find themselves isolated – prisoners in an extremely lonely world. Unwanted by their own family because of their disability, they live in a twilight world belonging nowhere.
Only a few weeks ago, we received news that there was a group of young deaf and mute girls who had nowhere to go. The ORPHANS HANDS is thrilled to announce the birth of a deaf outreach in Moldova.
There is a saying “God works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform.” For years, a terrific young couple has worked with us in Moldova. The husband Eugen, who is deaf, held a vision which is close to his heart but never had the means to fulfill it… until now. We are thrilled to announce our third THE ORPHANS HANDS’s Home is open, with a mission and a vision to reach the helpless kids who sit in orphanages unable to hear and unable to speak.
In this home, we are currently caring for 4 deaf and mute girls. We have rented a 4 bedroom apartment to accommodate them immediately, but are astonished at how big this need is. We anticipate many more coming in the future and the need for expansion is eminent. Our hope is to also open a similar home for young men.
Several people told us, when we were in Moldova, that there is nothing like this being done in the country. Even the government has nothing to help these kids. These young women are 18 to 20 years of age and cannot read or write. Two of them, whose dreams are to be chefs are enrolled in a special culinary school for the deaf.
The ORPHANS HANDS, your hands- our hearts, His heart will change their lives forever.
Please leave a comment and let them know how loved they are!
